Twenty-nine friends. Twenty-nine necklaces. One supper club that got completely out of hand.
It started with a box.
Twenty-nine Wooglian friends (Woogs, for short) had volunteered to help clean out an old house in Elibom. Somewhere between the attic dust and the third argument about whether a lamp was “vintage” or “just old,” somebody found a box of broken necklaces. There were snapped chains, lonely clasps, and loose beads rolling around like they’d forgotten the way home.
There were exactly twenty-nine.
Nobody knows who owned the house, or why they kept twenty-nine broken necklaces. The Woogs decided that was none of their business. Their business was this: you don’t toss something just because it’s broken.
So they made a pact.
Each friend took one necklace home, repaired it, and wore it for a month. Before the month was out, they had to add at least one object of delight that told the story of their month: a key, a button, a fishing lure, a tooth that nobody will claim. Anything goes, as long as it attaches and doesn’t rot. That second rule exists for a reason, and the reason was a banana.
Once a month, they meet for supper club. They eat, they tell the stories behind what they added, they argue about whether those stories are true, and they pass the necklaces on. The next month everyone wears a different one, and adds something else.
The swap runs for twenty-nine months, until every Woog has worn every necklace. Whichever necklace you’re wearing at the last supper is yours to keep. The Necks are already arguing about that.

Objects of delight: Chunky metal hearts, one glass heart, a black ribbon, a gold key, a pewter rabbit that holds lip balm, and a tiny orange-and-pink tassel.
The supper-club argument: Nobody will admit to adding the rabbit. Everybody has used the lip balm.
