Currently on: Juane Brilliant, Month 8 of 29
This month’s addition: The little yellow songbird. Juane says it followed him home across three counties and a mountain range. Maximus says it came from a shop on the corner.
Objects of delight: A vintage plum necklace of black chain and violet rhinestones, a yellow enamel songbird, a black-and-silver bird pendant with dangling black beads, a purple glass heart, red and gold tassels, an orange bead cluster, a heart key, and a striped glass bead.
Key Registry: Entered. Locks opened: none. Juane claims his key once opened a castle. Stripaticus has requested the castle’s name.
The supper-club argument: Two birds on one Ware. Tannery, who collects birds, has visited this necklace more than any other this year. Juane says the birds asked for her.
The silver bird spreads its wings like it’s about to make an announcement, which Juane says it learned from him. The tassels swing whenever he gestures, and Juane gestures constantly. Lurleen has added a second orange cluster to her list of complaints about how much the Wares copy each other.
In the 29 Necks, necklaces change hands every month at supper. This Ware isn’t married to its Woog. Take it home with Juane, with a different Woog, or on your own neck.
