Currently on: Elaine Extralovey, Month 8 of 29
This month’s addition: The shoe. Of course it was the shoe. It came with a story, and the story ran through dessert.
Objects of delight: Long layered chain, lacework filigree hearts, two tiny shoes, a jeweled ring charm, a little pink sketchbook, and a key.
Key Registry: Entered. Locks opened: none. Elaine says that’s because nobody has tried it on a shoe closet.
The supper-club argument: There are two shoes, and they’re not a pair. Dwayne has been through the lonely wings and refuses to go through this again.
The lacework hearts are so delicate that Adelania has finally found hearts she approves of. She calls them “hearts with good manners.” The tiny pink sketchbook has Felicity’s full approval for the color and Cyrilla’s for the size. Nobody knows what’s drawn inside. Winston has been very quiet about it, and everyone has noticed.
In the 29 Necks, necklaces change hands every month at supper. This Ware isn’t married to its Woog. Take it home with Elaine, with a different Woog, or on your own neck.
