When the seam opened, the old world tried to wipe Pastella away entirely. A blur of blue and grey was nearly all that was left. But the Orendaflow offered a second chance, and Pastella reached past the smudge for the boldest paint she could find. She painted herself on kraft paper, the sturdy brown kind, and dared it to tear. Her favorite Elibom saying is stitched into a pillow in her parlor: don't you dare shrink to fit small eyes.
